Video: Jade<3 Talks About Remixing IMHC
Finally! The 8-month process of recording, mixing, and mastering Jade’s collection of remixes for her IMHC remix EP is finally over. It was high time for her to let loose at RdV in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District; so loose her 17 tracks from the album shook up the cobblestones outside. She made magic happen inside too, getting upstart producers and rappers to be smitten by their own work. The love was everywhere, even in the strange projection of a man and woman behind us. Watch the interview after the jump.

Photo: Oprah Needs to Give N*E*R*D a Drop
In recent “OMG WHAT IS HAPPENING” news, some of New York’s finest producers and musicians attended the fanciful Met Gala Ball, where so many of the city’s hot-shit power-players collided our eyes started watering at the thought of it. Try to get your head around these photos: Anna Wintour, notoriously icy editor of Vogue, invited N*E*R*D to play the Gala Ball afterparty. Oprah, Diddy and Pharrell just chilling together. A dude that looks like Ashton Kutcher is craning his neck to take a photo with a camera that is digital, but looks like a disposable.
Quadron, Free the Robots, Mux Mool Perform in Brooklyn
Pardon their fumes, Quadron is on a hot streak. We were in the presence of two dyanmic Danes last night for the next installment of Suite903 Sessions; Coco O sang, Robin Hannibal blanketed the room in some warm grooves, making their three-song performance (plus Q+A) one for the books.
Not to worry though, because they’re still here! Tomorrow Quadron headlines a party tomorrow at Public Assembly in Brooklyn brought to you by The Taste Crew. Yep, two DJ favorites will be there Synapse and DJ Equal. More live goodness also coming your way from Free the Robots plus Mux Mool. Click here to RSVP. Recap: DJ Rekha and Nina Sky Celebrate NYC’s Longest Running Dance Party
Friday night brought the 13th year anniversary of the longest running monthly dance party in NYC. DJ Rekha’s iconic birthday bash for her famed Basement Bhangra party brought together a wide range of artists from the Indian hip-hop and dancehall world as well as the NY soul duo, Nina Sky, plus a performance by DJ Rekha.
Twin sisters Natalie and Nicole played a short set brimming with hot remixes of hits like RHCP’s “Other Side” and “Sweet Dreams” by Eurythmics. Next was DJ Rekha spinning for the rest of the night cranking out international dance hits while momentarily showing off her dance moves throughout the night. A hybrid concert/dance party is what the Basement Bhangra continually brings, blending veterans and rising talent from around the world. If you missed it, then wait until May when Rekha returns to the DJ booth, and of course the dancefloor. Check out a couple of shots of Nina Sky after the jump.

Photography by Seth Browarnik/Redeye Productions
If Kelis really wanted to torture her fans, she could chose to retire from music. Damn, what would the world be like without another “Milkshake”? The thought of her never churning out another mantra—like the one geared towards the lady lumps—never seemed real until she assumed control of the kitchen at her fancy listening session/dinner party last night.

Last Night’s Party: Suite903 Launch Soiree

We go where the parties are, and if they’re not there we make them. Last night you know we had to celebrate the birth of Suite903 with a classy, cute and fully exclusive party at New York’s East Village club Ella. We invited Marsha Ambrosius, Jesse Boykins III, Waajeed and our resident DJ OP! to provide the sexy soundtrack, and Hennessey Artistry provided the beverages. As you can see in the pics after the jump (all shot by our favorite photographer Dorothy Hong), people were feeling it.
