Video: Miguel f. J. Cole, ” All I Want Is You”

We’ve seen these two perform this song live and well you should be jealous. Miguel is quite a talent live but we’ll take dramatic videos until he goes on his first world tour. The girl in this video totally robbed our summer rager outfit right down to the glow in the dark lipstick, but we’ll let it slide only because she’s outrageously good at being a pretend cyborg. The video is just as low-key as this song and we enjoy it because aesthetically we find it pleasing—swanky condos and black lights will always tantalize us. We can also relate to regretting the one you left behind. Like the cut-out sheer leotard we left behind at the Barney’s warehouse sample sale last year. We will never forget you. One day we shall meet again in a thrift store. Watch Miguel’s slick introduction after the jump.

New York Welcomes Miguel to Santos Party House

The stage at Santos might have been small for Miguel—the next big thing on Jive Records. He came to entertain—and he did—the thing is, he’ll eventually need more room to balance his smooth footwork and flashy twirls. He was off to a good start for his first NY outing. He showcased textbook showmanship that puts him as part of the patchwork of talent that came before him under Bystorm Entertainment, the same team that helped groom Usher, Biggie, and rap freshman, J. Cole.

The LA native was flanked by his band, then J. Cole jumped in towards the end of his set where Miguel took a seat to demonstrate his burning desire for one lady in his life, not the caravan of others hanging on. On Cole’s second guest verse on “All I Want Is You,” for a few seconds, they’re coaching each other through the trials of love. Watch a quick clip from last night’s performance after the jump.

This is ABSOLUTELY the kind of slow jam we still fiend for since the physical copies of mixtapes got deaded in 2007 aka the year that Drama died. Which is also to say it’s not that 2010-sounding, but not everyone can be Kanye or Basement Jaxx or Will.i.Am or wait what? Nextel Chirp us if you wanna go out for a beverage this weekend, shorty, we’ll just be chilling thinking about the Left Coast.
