I won’t even take the time to do a Google Search in a pursuit to find out how many articles, tributes, YouTube/Vimeo compilations, (fill in the blank) have been made in his honor and yet….surely enough this has been spoken on at least once or twice….I can’t help giving the Killa Cam’ron blank stare to at least 85 percent of you guys (and gals…). Word ‘em up, @CyrusKLanghorne? WORD…
Of course MJ will always go down as the irreplaceable “King of Pop,” but to see how the backlash he received throughout more than 20 years in this music ‘ish turned into the most “OMG! RIP TO THE BEST SINGER EVER!!! MJ! WE MISS YOU!!! RT MJ IS GONE #RIP TO THE KING” in a matter of hours last June….come on, word?
Joe and Chico Debarge Sit Down With Suite903
In the greater R&B consciousness, the only connection Joe Thomas and Chico Debarge have is the much adored, yet now 12-year old “No Guarantee” video. Unbeknownst to the general populous, the two have a far closer relationship than the nightclub face-off depicted in the video. Both have been signed to R&B powerhouse Kedar Entertainment, along with the above pictured Ginuwine, just about as long as they’ve been making noise, but also have a longstanding musical relationship fortified by each other’s creativity. Touring heavily since releasing albums earlier this summer, we were elated to get them both into the same room to talk about R&B as they know it. —Felipe Delerme

Baby Mama Drama Reloaded: Now Starring Akon
To save us the hassle of analyzing piles and piles of legal paperwork, we’ll keep things simple. Sara Coleman claims her six-month baby belongs to “Mr. Lonely.” Her lawyer has been stalking him (even at the Michael Jackson memorial last week…). She claims the Konvict Music head isn’t paper stacking for the kid. Akon (initially shook, took the paternity test, matched) released a statement via his lawyer:
“Akon has taken responsibility and has been extremely cooperative and proactive in handling this private matter. Paternity was only established just over 30 days ago. Since the case was filed outside of Georgia jurisdiction, where he is a legal resident, Akon is currently in the process of engaging counsel in California and will continue to handle this matter in a timely manner.” (via TMZ)

Amidst a whirlwind schedule to promote his forthcoming trilogy of albums, BlackSummer’sNight, he has embarked on a rigorous tour that doesn’t cease until well into 2010, and possibly beyond. Every second of his time is on a schedule, particularly since the first installment in his collection, BLACK, dropped yesterday.
