Video: Erykah Badu f. Lil Wayne, “Jump Up in the Air (And Stay There)”

Not going to lie, the beginning of this video is not for those with weak stomachs. Four interlocking Erykah Badu faces are just very intense. Especially when her eight eyes are peering into your soul on the Monday morning after Valentine’s Day weekend. Listen Erykah we did some things we’re not proud of but you can’t judge us like this!!! (Just kidding, we spent the weekend watching the Olympics and wishing we could win a gold medal; forget flowers!) Anyway, we don’t know how strong the “Free Weezy” campaign is but Miss Badu is obviously on it and maybe secretly so are we? Who knows but we definitely want more of these two in our lives. –Judnick Mayard

Erykah Badu f. Bilal & Lil Wayne, “Jump in the Air (And Stay There)” MP3

HEY GUYS, ERYKAH GOT LIL WAYNE ON THIS SONG! HOW YOU LIKE ME NOW!

This is the first official leak from Erykah Badu’s forthcoming album, New Amerykah Pt. II: Return of the Ankh, the sequel to her incredible New Amerykah. Can’t wait to see what she does with the videos for these, considering the last album’s visual creativity (see: the excellent “Honey“).

Lil Wayne & T-Pain, “Damn, Damn”

lil-wayne-t-pain-nc

A few weeks ago at the Suite903 Christmas party, someone asked a very important question: What happened to snap music? We came to the conclusion that it wasn’t dead but alive and well in The-Dream choruses. Let’s also be honest and say T-Pain owns a piece and by default so does Weezy. “Damn, Damn,” which Weezy can be seen recording in his Carter documentary, is awesome because there is nothing going on but some trippy autotune echoes and major snaps. The pair probably came up with the idea fooling around with the T-pain iPhone app in the middle of a purple drank binge (Nuvo for T-Pain, Codeine for Weezy), which means you can get all the words right in the club and fool everyone into thinking you’re not that drunk.—Judnick Mayard

CYRIOUSLY: Love Vs. Heartbreak

Kanye_West_Andre_3000_Youre_All_Welcome-front-large
Welcome back and to some of errryone who never left, sorry for the lack of updates during the holiday rush!

Yes, 2010 is here and now that a(nother) decade is long and gone, it is time for me to come clean about something which has overtaken my mind, body and soul like Pier 1 CDs. (Come on, I can’t be ‘that’ alone on the reference, chea?)

Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak” < Andre 3000’s The Love Below

Sure, you could use the argument of time difference or maybe even keep on reading a few more lines to see what I’m really sayi  here, but it’s quite simple and plain….Kanye straight JACKED Andre 3000’s dopest concept to date.

Chris Brown f. Swizz Beatz & Lil Wayne, “I Can Transform Ya”

This video is weird. And not just because we’ll never look at Chris the same again, but what is going on here? There’s graffiti (presumably), Chris with no shirt on under his pea coat, Weezy with an unplugged guitar, freeze frame jerkin, cartoon glasses appearing on Chris’ face, some sort of amateur ninjitsu, and oh yea, Transformers. Mind blowing stuff here, really. But you know, if people aren’t really feeling it, we’re sure he’ll just say that when he looks back at it, he doesn’t see himself, cause he’s not that type of person. Kind of like when he beat up Rihanna.

Chris Brown To The Fans: “Say Hello To The Bad Guy”

chrisb
Just in case you guys thought it was a joke, nerp: Chris Brown is officially back and running things, as heard in his last-minute interview on New York radio station Hot 97 with radio personality Angie Martinez. From talking about his issues with Oprah Winfrey to revealing a conversation with Mr. “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” himself and Diddy, Breezy went IN like Rocky 5… step up your memory catalog folks!

“As a young black man myself, I need older black male role models to step in and kind of mold me. Not people bashing me, ’cause that’s not how you learn from mistakes,” Brown told Martinez about Will Smith and Diddy.

Granted, he could play the high road of someone in need of “help” like Banks and Hilson back in ‘06, but when it came to those rumors about Jay-Z blackballing him from the BET Awards 2009 show last June and the threats of bodily harm to his well-being….well, let’s just say Chris played his cards right on that answer.

“I don’t know and don’t think it was him,” Brown said. “I don’t got anything against homie.”

All in all, the video and audio files are going to circulate online faster than Norton Anti-Virus subscription renewal offers over the next few weeks, so take it for what it’s worth. Hate him or love him, Brown is determined to make it in this music industry, even if he has to go and get colored as the “bad guy” for his personal situation/domestic dispute with Rihanna.

From records with Lil Wayne (”Transformya”) and Juelz Santana (”Back Home”), this kid is looking to continue being under 21 sitting on mills… -Cyrus Kyle Langhorne

Amerie ft. Lil Wayne “Heard Em All” Remix

phpeyhkfgpm

The beautiful Amerie and the not so beautiful (but no less talented) Weezy Wee got together for a remix of her album’s second single, “Heard Em All”. With a little bit of a dancehall flow on Amerie’s end, it’s something of a different look for the pop starlet, but a different we can appreciate. What do we get from Weezy? The otherworldly braggadocio he’s surely patented, and we still love it. Already we can see some chick in the club building to a dutty whine from two step, or maybe we just spoiled the video!

Drake Makes It Rain Yeezy, Weezy & Shady

YouTube Preview Image
Don’t get it twisted, you’re still rocking with the best…Suite903, but this thing right herrrre….Drake snagging along Lil Wayne, Kanye West and the Great White Hype, Eminem all on one track? Incredible.

While Drake has gotten everyone from your baby’s mother to your grandmother wanting their panties (and adult pampers) personally autographed, it’s this latest single from LeBron James’ upcoming “More Than A Game” documentary called “Forever” which has literally put the Internet game on pause (minus the police). Although we personally admit Yeezy, Weezy and Shady held their own…the newest R&B meets Rap meets E! meets The FADER…well, you get it…Drake is more than just your average rapper…listen to the audio yourself and follow the leader’s lead:

Download: Drake f. Kanye West, Lil Wayne & Eminem, “Forever”
(via Nah Right)

“Last name Ever, first name Greatest,” Drake raps on the introduction to “Forever. “Like a sprained ankle boy, ain’t nothin’ to play with/Started off local, but thanks to all the haters I know G-4 pilots on a first name basis/N*ggas said he faded off the Brown/Nino, she insist you got more class/We know, swimming in the money come and find me, Nemo — Dropped the mixtape sh*t sounded like an album/Who’d thought a country ride tour would be the outcome/Labels want my name, sign an ‘X’ like Malcolm/Everybody got a deal, I did it without one…” (”Forever”)

Just for the record, not only do I not know G-4 pilots on a first name basis, I also can’t remember my Apple G4 laptop’s username…Drizzy is living the “Good Life” for sure…so when you total it all up…you have his “Best I Ever Had” collaboration with Lil Wayne. “Off That” courtesy of Jay-Z. “(Untitled)” mystery track with Diddy. “Digital Girl” with Kanye West, and now…without even dropping his debut album Thank Me, Later , he’s already snagged a collaboration with Eminem?

Forget hip-hop’s savior, Drake is changing the game like the Reggaeton movement in 2004 (fortunately, the powers that be [record label executives] actually believe in this trend…)….R&B has been officially injected with such a powerful dose of that “Halle Berry” ‘Make me feel, gooood,’ that we may notice a trend….T-Pain showed a few how to do it, but could we be on the verge of a surge of rapping singers? Hhmmm…well, putting those thoughts to the side…just keep in mind the song is “supposedly” going to be officially released via iTunes Friday (August 28) and the new documentary is set to drop this October… Eh, it’s the Internet, we can’t help with the sprung leaks, but we sure will let you guys know about ‘em! —Cyrus Kyle Langhorne

Chris Brown Versus Drake, Lil Wayne As Special Guest Referee

chris-brown-sad-face
Could it all be so simple? Forget battle of the sexes, looks like Chris Brown and Drake might be going at it indirectly (pause?) with the help of Lil Wayne. Now by this point everyone (grandmothers included) should know your sister’s favorite rap meets R&B star Drizzy has been placed on the disabled list and is sitting out his first major tour alongside Lil Wayne. Well, call it just a good ol’ coincidence (“ha, not likely…”) that Wayne happened to stop in Virginia where none other than Chris Brown was brought onstage to perform…yup, you guessed it, DRAKE’s “Best I Ever Had.”

Now of course it was a bit informal as his microphone seemed to almost be muted, but hearing Wayne say “Make some noise for Chris Breezy,” well, seems like the Young Money CEO is either hilariously smart or just trying to give fans something he knew they’d love to see….And remember, both Wayne and Brown have done records together, including “Poppin” and “Gimme That,” so it’s no surprise they are close. (pause again…)

However, with the return of Brown…well, he’s adopted a raplike persona, something along the lines of a Lil Zane (throwback!) or even a more lyrical version of Bow Wow…rapping over records (yes, “rapping”) like “I’m Illy” and then the constant cursing…hhmm. Should Drake be worried? We’ll see if Wayne continues to pull more hats out of his bag in the form of Brown as Drake continues to heal from Canada…but if that’s the case, please believe…Drake may be making some three-way calls to Joe Budden and The Game for battle verses! —Cyrus Kyle Langhorne

Drake Collapses On Stage, Gets Surgery

If we knew Drizzy wasn’t really 50 Cent in disguise with Soulja Boy swag, we would say his marketing skills deserve blown-out Academy Award nominations and spot-on wins as his onstage collapse had the Internet going cra-zzzy over the weekend. Always take doctor’s (except J and Dre) orders serious, folks, as Drake showed us last Friday…things were realer than expected as he hit the stage alongside Lil Wayne to perform their “Best I Ever Had” cut when not even a solid 34 seconds into it, yup, you got it. Drake hit the ground…HARD.
