Video: Kelis, “4th of July (Fireworks)”
Look up in the sky, it’s a bird, it’s a plane, no, it’s fireworks! Really, fireworks? We pick up where Kelis’ last video left off in a seemingly far off land far from paparazzi, so the only flashes of light are the ones that go in tune with the kitschy ambience of dance music—friggin’ laser beams and glowsticks. You can’t imagine that this video cost too much to make because of how predictable it is. But when handed lemons, Kelis has made some pretty tasty (POW!) lemonade thanks to the fine editing you can savor for the end of the new visual from Flesh Tone… wait for it, wait for it… hit the jump.

Kelis Dual MP3 Leak: “4th of July” “22nd Century” (Update)
After the Black Eyed Peas dominated 2009 with “I Got A Feeling,” pretty much every special occasion has to be ruined celebrated with the song once the confetti starts flying. There’s no denying Will.i.am’s talent, or his eye for it—Shakur, even Fergie (::cringe::)—which is why it’s hard to be mad at him producing Kelis’ Interscope album, Flesh Tone.
Coming from left-field not looking or sounding like other pop females pre-Y2K, no one also saw the next wave of ladies that would be cut from the same cloth as Kelis Rogers. Not putting out new material in four years hasn’t knocked her off her pedestal but her seat is definitely up for grabs. That’s why it should be no surprise to see Kelis traveling another road less-traveled having internationally renowned DJ/producers at the helm, and now Free School (prod. Kid Cudi’s “Up Up & Away, and “Heart of a Lion”) whip up a near 6 minute song, long enough for a bathroom break in the middle of the fireworks. Remember Wanderland put her far ahead of her American a-alikes earning her an instant European following. After the jump, she straps the U.S. on her back for Independence Day.

DJ Replay Remixes Kelis for “Queen of Hearts” Mixtape
Now is the best time to get a piece of Kelis. Being a divorcée is up there with being a free agent in the music industry—someone out there, at one point in time, albeit a label or a would-be male companion is lucky if they can lay claim to courting Kelis Rogers.
Those ties to will.i.am/Interscope don’t keep her from wandering off the mainland though, into say DJ Replay’s lab who remixed some of K’s best work into a 25+ minute rave set. It’s pretty incredible the way he added onto records like “No Security” and “Milkshake” with some drums, and samples from Major Lazer, and Benny Benassi to build even more anticipation for her forthcoming album. Trust you haven’t heard it all before. Replay threw in a few Kelis exclusives too. Yup, Kelis is coming. See the tracklist to the mix below, then watch the full-length visual to “Acapella.”

Photo Recap: Dinner with Kelis and Friends

If Kelis really wanted to torture her fans, she could chose to retire from music. Damn, what would the world be like without another “Milkshake”? The thought of her never churning out another mantra—like the one geared towards the lady lumps—never seemed real until she assumed control of the kitchen at her fancy listening session/dinner party last night.

Video: Kelis “Acapella”
Biters pay attention: Kelis is here, again. Her new video brings another trend forward, headdresses. Carnaval and every country that hosts the massive outdoor procession, there are pants-less women dancing in headdresses. Could a summer release from Kelis Rogers possibly inspire sweaty naked dancing through the streets? If not, how about some glowing hypnotizing shades to start, mmkay?

Video: Kelis on Rihanna’s Swagger Jackin!
In Suite903 HQ, the style department has had copious discussions over the course of Rihanna’s “transformation” into “bad girl” about how heavily she was biting from Kelis. Don’t get us wrong, we love Ri Ri but Kelis is the OG wild woman and while anybody can steal her style, nobody can mimic her spirit. Finally, someone asked Kelis about this and she addresses it straight on with the class and confidence we’ve come to expect from her, while still totally shutting her down. She also talks about drunk twittering. Kelis you are baddd. Be our best friend. (via Bossip)
Kelis, “Acapella”
Earlier today on twitter, Kelis released “Acapella” her first offering post motherhood. “Acapella,” a song about love bringing actual music into someones life is a step away from a Neptunes-rich catalog and comes with a special message posted to her own site.

Jack Splash f. Kelis, “In The Future”
“Jack Splash is the next Prince!” says Missy Elliot says this press release we just received with this Jack Splash jam. Woah there Miscellaneous, those are some big ass shoes to fill. Shoes that may never, ever be filled, in the way that James Brown’s never will be. Dubious career forecasts aside, Splash and former future dweller Kelis are nice enough to let us into their world just long enough to tell us that we better take advantage tonight cause things ain’t gonna be the same tomorrow. Nas, can we get an amen?

We’re Having A Baby!
Well, we aren’t, but Kelis and Nas are… RIGHT THIS SECOND. Kelis is reportedly in labor and Nas is reportedly rushing to the hospital.. But funnily enough, the two were supposed to meet up today not in a hospital but in court, to go through the “financials” of their divorce proceedings. The two are getting dirty in their breakup—Kelis is asking for $20,000 a month (!) in spousal support, along with all pregnancy expenses, and Nas… well, Nas isn’t having that and is offering $5,000 a month to his soon to be ex. It will be interesting to see how the battle continues to unfold after the birth of their new bundle of joy. But aside from all the drama, CONGRATS kids, make it work!
