Video: Kanye West, “Coldest Winter”
Kanye is not in this video, but the essence of his heartbreak is: this is a fairly macabre fairy tale put to screen, a pretty straightforward interpretation of love lost. Also: cool effects! Nabil is responsible for this, the same director who did “Welcome to Heartbreak” and “Paranoid.”
Dedication: Kanye and Amber, You GO.

These two complete each other and by extension, us, for being so damn fearless with it. Amber is basically wearing a fishnet as a dress on the right and Kanye is wearing old grandpa slippers and they look like they could eat Carine Roitfeld for dinner. How did we ever survive without them? Why don’t they wear fur more often? Can they adopt us? This one’s for AmbYe, because we want to get their images permanently tattooed on our retinas. GET IT IN. STAY TOGETHER FOREVER. Dedication after the jump. (pic via High Snobette)
Dedication: H&M
H&M, the Sweden-based clothing company of choice of budgeted fashionistas was recently outed by the New York Times for a disturbing practice of shredding up and throwing away clothes when they are out of season and unable to be sold. The practice is especially disheartening in the current economic climate when a great many are struggling just to hold on and charitable clothing organizations are receiving less donations than ever. For you, H&M, we have summoned Kanye out of exile to do what he does best; whine.
Video: Kanye West, “Paranoid” (from VH-1 Storytellers)
Kanye’s Storytellers was quite a while back, but this video of “Paranoid” from 808s just hit the interweb to promo the live CD/DVD that dropped today. What do you think? We’re thinking a lot about that bowtie, which he rocks in a very un-Chris Brown like fashion.
CYRIOUSLY: Love Vs. Heartbreak

Welcome back and to some of errryone who never left, sorry for the lack of updates during the holiday rush!
Yes, 2010 is here and now that a(nother) decade is long and gone, it is time for me to come clean about something which has overtaken my mind, body and soul like Pier 1 CDs. (Come on, I can’t be ‘that’ alone on the reference, chea?)
Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak” < Andre 3000’s The Love Below
Sure, you could use the argument of time difference or maybe even keep on reading a few more lines to see what I’m really sayi here, but it’s quite simple and plain….Kanye straight JACKED Andre 3000’s dopest concept to date.
Nneka f. Jay Electronica, “Walking (J. Period RMX)” MP3

J. Period gave Nneka’s second single an ill stomp and handclap anthem with a couple of related samples, most notably a phrase from Kanye’s “Jesus Walks” chorus and, semi-randomly, Portland hip hop duo Lifesavas. We are really impressed with the stuff Nneka’s been belting out and this remix puts it in an old school context and reminds us to dig out the Tribe tapes. Good times. This is from her mixtape, which drops Tuesday, and featuring remixes and new material by M-1 (Dead Prez), Jay Electronica, Zumbi (Zion I), Rakaa (Dilated Peoples), Aceyalone (Freestyle Fellowship), General Steele (Boot Camp Clik) & Talib Kweli.

Consequence f. John Legend, Kanye West, “Whatever You Want”
If this G.O.O.D. music fam video is accurate, the thing Kanye West wants is a head bath from a hot tub and a fly female. This is from Consequence’s album Cons TV, out November 20.
Drake Makes It Rain Yeezy, Weezy & Shady

Don’t get it twisted, you’re still rocking with the best…Suite903, but this thing right herrrre….Drake snagging along Lil Wayne, Kanye West and the Great White Hype, Eminem all on one track? Incredible.
While Drake has gotten everyone from your baby’s mother to your grandmother wanting their panties (and adult pampers) personally autographed, it’s this latest single from LeBron James’ upcoming “More Than A Game” documentary called “Forever” which has literally put the Internet game on pause (minus the police). Although we personally admit Yeezy, Weezy and Shady held their own…the newest R&B meets Rap meets E! meets The FADER…well, you get it…Drake is more than just your average rapper…listen to the audio yourself and follow the leader’s lead:

(via Nah Right)
“Last name Ever, first name Greatest,” Drake raps on the introduction to “Forever. “Like a sprained ankle boy, ain’t nothin’ to play with/Started off local, but thanks to all the haters I know G-4 pilots on a first name basis/N*ggas said he faded off the Brown/Nino, she insist you got more class/We know, swimming in the money come and find me, Nemo — Dropped the mixtape sh*t sounded like an album/Who’d thought a country ride tour would be the outcome/Labels want my name, sign an ‘X’ like Malcolm/Everybody got a deal, I did it without one…” (”Forever”)
Just for the record, not only do I not know G-4 pilots on a first name basis, I also can’t remember my Apple G4 laptop’s username…Drizzy is living the “Good Life” for sure…so when you total it all up…you have his “Best I Ever Had” collaboration with Lil Wayne. “Off That” courtesy of Jay-Z. “(Untitled)” mystery track with Diddy. “Digital Girl” with Kanye West, and now…without even dropping his debut album Thank Me, Later , he’s already snagged a collaboration with Eminem?
Forget hip-hop’s savior, Drake is changing the game like the Reggaeton movement in 2004 (fortunately, the powers that be [record label executives] actually believe in this trend…)….R&B has been officially injected with such a powerful dose of that “Halle Berry” ‘Make me feel, gooood,’ that we may notice a trend….T-Pain showed a few how to do it, but could we be on the verge of a surge of rapping singers? Hhmmm…well, putting those thoughts to the side…just keep in mind the song is “supposedly” going to be officially released via iTunes Friday (August 28) and the new documentary is set to drop this October… Eh, it’s the Internet, we can’t help with the sprung leaks, but we sure will let you guys know about ‘em! —Cyrus Kyle Langhorne
Jamie Foxx f. Drake, The-Dream & Kanye West, “Digital Girl (Remix)”
Drake doesn’t only dress up like Kanye, he can also make himself sound exactly like him! For the remix to “Digital Girl,” and the ensuing video, Jamie Foxx recruited more or less everyone who’d been filling up his iPod playlists that month and invited them to come hang out inside of Tron. How The-Dream was able to sneak a fitted hat into digital land is beyond us, but the song is a nice turn on the ever present technological love meme.
