The void for between the sheets music is missing the original hip-hop swing of Jodeci. No one has been able to fill their shoes, not even K-Ci and Jo-Jo on their own can do half the battle of their collective bedroom bullying, with Timbs on. Flattering as it may be, Brutha’s cover of “Freek’N You” is close, even with auto-tune carrying those notes only K-Ci could wail in the midst of his on-stage mock seizures. The Return of Jodeci
So this has to be some kind of joke. An incredibly mean one, but a joke nonetheless. In what is being billed as Jodeci without K-Ci or JoJo (otherwise known as the group’s vocal anchors), two NOdeci songs have appeared on the internet and wouldn’t have even come close to qualifying as entries in a Diary Of A Mad Band. “I Got It” and “Sex In You Down” both sound kind of like The-Dream dropped a couple of X pills and wrote the first shit that came to mind. The melody is there, the good sense not. What’s next, “Forever Shaneneh?” Also, how does this happen when Mr. Dalvin was capable of doing all this shit by himself?
