Stream: RydazNrtist f. Fabolous, “Cakes” MP3

rydaznrtist-def-jam

Stop! We know exactly what you’re thinking. We actually just watched a Twitter exchange between two of our friends about it: what the fuck is that name? Someone actually called it the worst name since LovHer. We’re going with the pronunciation “Ridas n Artist,” which begs the question: “Is it one singer and his entourage?” We were hoping it was sorta like a new Usher with a Young Money style posse. Nevermind that we’re kind of excited about this comeback of boy bands! These dudes are actually the “baby” that Nick Cannon was rumored to be producing. This might be better than a Nick and Mariah baby. How come those guys never got an abbreviated name? Canrey, Nicriah, Marick—we digress. Stream Def Jam’s new trio and tell us what you think or you could Tweet us your thoughts on the names as well @suite903.

Video: Trey Songz f. Fabolous, “Say Ahh”

Remember when Bobby Brown was on top of the world and would manage to rap at least one verse of all his hit songs? Fast forward to 2010, where Trey Songz does the same thing except “Say Ahh” is a whole track of “singer rap.” Unlike his last video, he keeps his shirt on here, but still conveys its not-so-subtle innuendo—this is a party full of girls who didn’t get to go home with Songz (or craft services for that matter). Doubt it’s champagne he wants you to open wide for! LOL :-)
The multiple DJ Clue sightings make us miss the echo on his mixtapes.

Video: Amerie f. Fabolous, “More Than Love”

Give us a late pass on this one—we were out on winter break for two weeks! But we ADORE this video—it’s cinematic and honest and Amerie made it a little like a way more realistic Sex and the City. She should act more, definitely. And can we give some serious props to her stylist? Killing it! Love this girl! (via Soulculture)

Fabolous ft. Keri Hilson & Ryan Leslie “Everything, Every Day, Everywhere”

Finally, a visual for the song I’ve been playing like crazy. The video for Fabolous‘ “Everything, Every Day, Everywhere” featuring the beautiful Keri Hilson and the musical mad hatter, Ryan Leslie, is here on the day of the release of his fifth album, Loso’s Way. Shot from a paparazzi’s eye view, we see the club…pretty ladies, champagne flowing and money, as well as Tamala Jones, Officer Ricky and Amerie. The video actually begins with a bit of an explanation in, “No matter where you go, they’re always there…” regarding the paps, of course. But maybe, Suite903 too.

Fabolous f. Ryan Leslie & Keri Hilson, “Everything, Everyday, Everywhere”

Ryan, Fab & Keri Studio Session from Ryan Leslie on Vimeo.

You may remember the skeleton of “Everything, Everyday, Everywhere” in the above video of Ryan Leslie sucking on a talkbox while Keri Hilson makes it rain on herself and Fab is probably imagining he’s already in the club. The final version, now yours to have and to hold, will be appearing on Loso’s Way and on World Star players across America as the trio have just shot a clip for it. Fab doing that thing where he adds melody to his delivery but only to the point where it sounds like an elementary school teacher is poking him with a conductor’s wand to get it out of him. This is something for the radio.

Def Jam’s R&B New Jack Delivers On “Birthday Cake”

jeremih_bdayPhoto by Adam Belawski
With all due respect to Lloyd, 2009 is officially the year of the lover. Over at Def Jam though, L.A. Reid and company started by building a layer cake with The-Dream at the foundation, and Jeremih stacked above. This past February, the 21-year old Chicago native along with his producer Mick Schultz left an impression on Reid, which lead to a record deal. Now his lead-off single “Birthday Sex” has Fabolous, Red Cafe, Stat-Quo, Teairra Mari, Pretty Ricky, and Flo Rida burning the candle at both ends adding their on twists to the instant smash.

And just as The-Dream hit the ground running with remixes with labelmate Fabolous, Jeremih is also featured on Loso’s street single, “It’s My Time,” produced by the Runners. J’s impressive cameo over this Young Jeezy and R. Kelly’s “Go Getta” tribute gives Brooklyn’s finest a much-needed anthem for his next LP. Mike Shory couldn’t have done it any better.

Shonie f. Fabolous, “Can’t Let Go”

shonie1
This track has “bumping from cars all NYC summer” written all over it, and it’s not even cause of the inclusion of diamond Fab. It’s super glossy which is what we’ll be wanting when we’re all sweating in the streets and drinking 30 gallons of water per day (sidebar: if you actually drink that much water in one day, you will probably die). Shonie is this new 19-year-old chick from Miami who grew up singing in the church and apparently wants to “write songs that reflected the troubles and struggles of women, everywhere, not just in the hood but in the world.” We are definitely not mad at that, or her, at all. Tell it!

Ryan Leslie, “Gonna Let This Luv”

leslie_1-1

Ryan Leslie is the gift that keeps on giving. His album just dropped in February, but the Harvard grad has released several singles since that either didn’t make the initial cut—or that he just can’t sit on til his next album. Leslie also takes to his blog to post up to date videos of him doing his thing in the studio, sometimes alone, sometimes with other great artists like Fabolous and Keri Hilson. It’s a good inside look into his creative process and a chance to hear bits of what’s to come.
