Video: David Byrne & Fatboy Slim f. Santigold “Please Don’t”
Referencing Barack Obama in music is so 2009. That’s why we’re excited for David Byrne and Fatboy Slim’s part-concept, part-tribute album to the first lady of the Phillippines, Imelda Marcos. The album which drops April 6th features a predominantly female cast of collaborators, from Florence and the Machine, Sharon Jones, to Santigold on the lead single “Please Don’t.” Here’s the clip, choc-full of footage of Imelda the fashion icon running the map meeting former presidents and diplomats.

Kelis, “Acapella”
Earlier today on twitter, Kelis released “Acapella” her first offering post motherhood. “Acapella,” a song about love bringing actual music into someones life is a step away from a Neptunes-rich catalog and comes with a special message posted to her own site.

MSTRKRFT f. John Legend, “Heartbreaker”
Hipster heroes MSTRKRFT apparently hung out with John Legend long enough to record the electronically soulful “Heartbreaker,” but didn’t need him (or themselves) to shoot a cute video about teenage love and/or breaking and entering in some kind of creepy ass grocery store.
Joy Jones “Be My Husband”
Giant Step’s Joy Jones is a fusion of Afro-Beat, Jazz and soul with an electro twist. Making a wedding proposal awfully great to dance to, Jones’ “Be My Husband” off of her July album release Godchild is a great remake to a Nina Simone classic. Different from all of those independent women tunes, the track has Joy offering to cook and sew to keep her man! But Jones has a variety of other services she can offer, the girl is a Jill of many trades, adding song writing and spoken word to her range of talents.

Hygher Baby – Struggle (Sesac Remix)
The good people over at Stockholm’s Raw Fusion have blessed Suite903 with an exclusive Sesac remix of the Hygher Baby’s latest, “Struggle.” We could make a snide remark about the Swedish duo’s predilection for breezy space funk, but this song sounds like riding that ginormous dog from The Never Ending Story though ultraviolet skys.
