Video: Sneak Peeks from “We Are the World 2010″

Unless you have been living in a yurt, you probably know that Quincy and Lionel gathered a bunch of artists together to remake “We Are the World,” with proceeds going to Haiti. Here are the first clips from the sessions—you can see Akon in there, plus Wyclef gets interviewed about Lionel Ritchie.

Here’s the DOPE video for the track Akon and Keri debuted during the Grammys. It’s a charity track and the proceeds are to go to “underprivileged youth in Africa,” however that is the most general statement ever so we’re not gonna cosign that part til we know the exact details of who/what/when/where etc. Good song though!

This video is awesome and surreal, almost like Bjork directed it or something. Actually, if Keri went full Bjork and started wearing odd women’s clothing and/or costume outtakes from Kabuki theater we think it would be a really hot look. She could fully pull it off because she is 50 feet tall and has eyes that could slice through concrete. Akon could probably convince her to do this since he can convince anyone to do anything, as he is the original T-Pain. Wait, is Akon illuminati? If so, sorry man for blowing up your spot, but you should use your mind control powers to keep us from thinking such travesties. We want a Hypercolor prom dress! Also just realized we’re trying to change Keri Hilson in a video where she is telling us not to try to change her! That is concurrently messed up, meta and somewhat ironic.

Baby Mama Drama Reloaded: Now Starring Akon

To save us the hassle of analyzing piles and piles of legal paperwork, we’ll keep things simple. Sara Coleman claims her six-month baby belongs to “Mr. Lonely.” Her lawyer has been stalking him (even at the Michael Jackson memorial last week…). She claims the Konvict Music head isn’t paper stacking for the kid. Akon (initially shook, took the paternity test, matched) released a statement via his lawyer:

“Akon has taken responsibility and has been extremely cooperative and proactive in handling this private matter. Paternity was only established just over 30 days ago. Since the case was filed outside of Georgia jurisdiction, where he is a legal resident, Akon is currently in the process of engaging counsel in California and will continue to handle this matter in a timely manner.” (via TMZ)

Well, you win some, you lose some…sure we could pull Drake out to co-sign another “Stay Strapped” condom campaign, but the bottom line…it’s cheaper to keep her. “Na, Na, Na…” just kidding, but be a grown man and if it means taking a paternity test, be prepared with the checkbook which ever way the results turn out… —Cyrus Langhorne
