Janelle Monae, “Come Alive (The War of the Roses)”
On her latest track, “Come Alive (The War of the Roses),” Ms. Monae is channeling old school rock and roll and getting loose, looser than we’ve heard her sing in awhile, like she’s possessed by Tina Turner and Janis Joplin at the same time. Maybe she’s pissed off that her long-awaited new album is not out yet? We are. Here’s some footage of her recording “Come Alive.”
